Granada Preschool was founded in 1963 by Margaret Mitchell. She was a visionary in the field of early childhood education. Many of the ideas she championed in the early ’60s have come to be established principles in the field: the value of play in developing social skills and kindergarten readiness, balancing academic and developmental philosophies and the concept of the outdoor classroom. In 2023 we celebrating our 60th year. We are proud of our past and look forward to continuing to provide children a quality preschool experience.
“Childhood”
Our hats are off to all of those who still unscrew their Oreos,
Who’d rather giggle than outright laugh,
Who always favor the biggest half,
Who can’t see walking when they can run,
Who roll in the snow and dance in the sun.
To those whose eyes are clear and bright,
Who’d rather not venture where it’s not very light,
Who love their peanut butter gooey,
Their white bread soft,
Their bubble gum chewy.
Who marvel at all that a grown-up knows,
Whose hugs can warm us from our head to our toes.
